The Pitt-Johnstown field is an outlying field of the AAABA,
used only on the first two days of competition.
Officially named the George R. Walter Field, this NCAA
Division II
diamond is located on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh at
Johnstown, the nation's
first ever branch campus of a major university.
This is not a glamorous field, but it gets the job done.
First, to
access the field one must travel across a one-lane bridge at the back
of the Pitt Johnstown
campus. Second is a decent walk up hill from the parking lot to the
field. There is limited aluminum bleacher seating, but some room for
lawnchairs. All views
are obstructed by chain-link fencing. There are also no concessions
available.
