Roxbury Park along Franklin Street is the secondary field used
by the AAABA.
Roxbury Park has always been a recreational area for
Johnstowners.
Originally a lake called Luna Park, Roxbury Park now features multiple
baseball diamonds, a hockey court,
basketball courts, tennis courts, a playground, and the historic
Roxbury Bandshell.
Located in the suburb of Roxbury, this field offers
picturesque
surroundings. Games are regularly attended by a large contingent of
local residents. Limited aluminum
bleacher seating is available, but most fans bring lawn chairs. Open
space is available down both base lines and on the hill with the
concession stand. Some prefer the
'nose bleed section' way up on the hill along Park Drive.
Parking for Roxbury Park is available primarily along Berkley
Drive
and Park Drive, with some smaller lots on Franklin Street, as well as
street parking. Due to the
often large crowds, however, parking can become scarce.
While partaking of a game at Roxbury, be sure to stop by the
Roxberry Creamery located north of the field. The Creamery is locally
owned and a sponsor of the AAABA.
