The Franklin Field is an outlying field of the AAABA, used
only on the first two days of competition.
Once one of the nation's richest neighborhoods, Franklin has
declined since the loss of the steel mills. That decline has been
immortalized in the film
"Slapshot", which used the Franklin mills as a background for many
scenes.
The field itself is old, featuring all-wooden dugouts. While
some
bleacher seats are available on the third-base side, most regulars
choose to sit
a top a hill immediatly next to the first base side.
Parking is plentiful at the field, and the surrounding hills
provide some nice scenery.
