Ken-Hy Auto wins in Buffalo

- Ken-Hy Auto defeated Pignataro's on Saturday night to win game 3 of the AAABA of Buffalo championship series. Buffalo will compete in the Zanesville Regional this weekend against Livonia. Ken-Hy Auto's only other appearance in Johnstown was a 1-2 showing in 2009.

Ken-Hy Auto won the first game 4-3 as they scored twice in the bottom of the seventh with bases loaded, first on a walk and then on a pass ball. Pignataro's rebounded for a 6-5 victory in the second game. Ken-Hy then won the final game 4-0.

The Meridian Titans were the favorites entering the playoffs as they amassed a perfect 15-0 record in the regular season. However, 4th place Pignataro's (who qualified for the playoffs on the final day of the season) upset the Titans with a 2-game sweep in the first round. Ken-Hy Auto also upset their opponents, second place Mader Construction, who were last year's champion.

Buffalo competed in the Altoona Regional last year during a regularly-scheduled regional appearance. They are returning to a regional this season due to rule violation by the 2010 Team New Era entry during the national tournament.
