Three-way tie for first in Buffalo
June 20, 2011 - The AAABA of Buffalo League currently has a three-way for first place between Pignataro's Financial Group, Ken-Hy Auto, and A-Turf Titans (formerly Meridian Medical). All three teams have a 5-3 record, although both Ken-Hy and A-Turf have been outscored by their opponents. Last year's champion, Team New Era, is currently in last place with a 2-6 record. They finished 8th in Johnstown last year with a 2-2 record.
Meridian Medicine (now A-Turf Titans) represented Buffalo in the 2007 national tournament, posting a 2-2 record to finish 6th. Pignataro's were runners-up in Altoona in 2008, and placed 13th in Johnstown--leaving without a win. In 2009, Ken-Hy Auto went 1-3 in Johnstown and placed 11th. The Buffalo franchise has been national runners-up 5 times but have never won the championship. Their last runner-up effort was in 1980. The franchise was founded in 1951 and has qualified for Johnstown all but 10 times. Last year was Buffalo's 50th appearance in Johnstown where they have an 80-100 record all-time.
