2011 Johnstown City League Schedule Released
May 03, 2011 - The summer schedule for the Johnstown City League has been announced. The departure of the Principle Development club leaves four teams to compete for the right to represent Johnstown in the AAABA national tournament.
Four-time defending champion Delweld is joined by rival Martella's Pharmacy, Roxberry Creamery, and the Berkley Hills Renegades. The teams will begin competing on March 28th and play a 35-game schedule concluding on July 20th. All four teams will then qualify for the 2-round, best-of-5 playoffs. The winner of the playoffs will be the Johnstown host representative at the national tournament in August. The regular season champion (or playoff runner-up if the same team wins both the regular season and playoff championships) will represent the second Johnstown entry in the national tournament (referred to as Flood City on this site).
In addition to the 27 intracity games, the members of the Johnstown City League will also play 8 games against AAABA teams from neighboring Altoona. These games will count in the Johnstown City League standings. Johnstown will host four sets of games at both Point Stadium and Roxbury Park, and Altoona will host three sets in Lilly and one at Blair County Ballpark, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates' AA affiliate Altoona Curve.
